The Level 0 application is a web-based application used to enter and validate data from an LEA (Local Educational Agency; Level 0 = local) before data are loaded to their Level 1 Host center/RIC (Level 1 = regional). The Level 0 application contains edit checks to assist LEA users in providing quality data to the Student Information Repository System (SIRS) at Level 2 (Level 2 = state). Data validation rules documentation is posted below. The Department strongly encourages student management system (SMS) vendors to incorporate Level 0 data validation rules in their SMSs.
The Level 0 Historical application follows the same data validation rules as the main Level 0 application.
